Twin Lakes is located on M-26 in Houghton County. The twin lakes, Lake Gerald and Lake Roland, were named for the sons of Charles Wright, pioneer organizer of the Copper Range Railroad and Superior Bank in Hancock. He was one of the most influential Copper Country residents of his time. He also organized the State Savings Bank in Laurium and became the president of the Evening Copper Journal.
