Lake Gogebic is Michigan's largest inland lake. It is located western end of the Upper Peninsula. It offers excellent opportunities for fishing, hiking, hunting, camping, and winter sports. It retains its small Northwoods community atmosphere, untroubled by crowds and traffice.
Lake Gogebic is a four-season vacation wonderland. Lake Gogebic is Michigan's largest inland lake located in the far western end of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It has 13,380 acres of prime fishing water, there are smallmouth bass, jumbo perch, Northern pike, walleye and some whitefish.
Lake Gogebic's offers camping, hiking, sightseeing in the surrounding timberland and summer water sports. Bring sweaters for summer evenings and expect beautiful warm days. Waterfalls are plentiful in the area and many are very easily accessed. The wildflowers and wildlife are everywhere. Biking, 4-wheelers and walking are a way of life.
The fall colors are spectacular. The region is also a prime hunting territory for deer, bear, small game and birds.
Winter is harsh with an annual snowfall of nearly 300 inches. Lake Gogebic is located near a vast snowmobile trail system extending throughout the Upper Peninsula. It is a great place to snowshoe and ski. Cross country ski trails and five major downhill ski facilities are located in the area.
